Overview: In this 5‑day camp, participants focus on the FIRST LEGO League Challenge Submerged Robot Game. Build a reliable LEGO robot, create modular attachments, and program sensor‑driven routines to complete Submerged missions on the competition field.

Note: Experienced or repeat campers will build more advanced robots, code with Pybricks blocks or Python, and develop longer, higher‑scoring runs.

Learning Goals

Robot design: robust, low‑slip chassis; modular attachments for grab/lift/release; repeatable field alignment
Programming: gyro‑straight driving, precise turns, line tracking/alignment, reusable MyBlocks for mission actions
Strategy: mission selection by point value and risk, efficient multi‑mission chains, quick base resets
Documentation: run cards, setup checklists, tuning logs, and a reliable on‑table workflow

Daily Plan

Day 1 — Kickoff and Foundations

Season intro and field tour: key Submerged models and constraints
Build a stable robot base; mount and calibrate gyro and color sensor
Program straight drive, accurate 90° turns, gentle acceleration/braking
Deliverable: consistent launch and square docking in base

Day 2 — Strategy and First Submerged Missions

Mission map: identify quick wins vs. stretch objectives on the Submerged field
Design quick‑swap attachments with guides for repeatable setup
Create MyBlocks for drive‑to, align‑on‑line, and deploy/pickup actions
Deliverable: one reliable, scoring Submerged mission run

Day 3 — Consistency and Chained Runs

Combine gyro + line sensing; wall‑square and gentle bump‑align near models
Segment paths with waypoints to reduce drift over longer distances
Chain two missions in one run with a safe return to base
Reliability checks: battery level, wheel scrub, attachment repeatability, table variance
